Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast Lift Mobile Alabama – Breast-Lift-Mastopexy

If you have sagging breasts due to past pregnancies, genetics, or aging, you may be a candidate for a breast lift. Mobile Alabama plastic surgeons note that you can also go in for mastopexy if your breast sagging is too great to be treated with an implant alone. The procedure may also be helpful if your nipple-areola complexes (pigmented areas around the nipples) are enlarged.

The procedure is intended to give the patient an elevated, more youthful breast contour, as well as nipple-areola complexes of the desired size and at the correct height. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. The patient goes home with only light dressings over the incision lines. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Light activities may be started in 7–10 days.

Breast lift is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment. The specific risks and the suitability of mastopexy for a given individual can be determined only at the time of your consultation for breast lift. Mobile Alabama plastic surgeons caution that all surgical procedures carry some degree of risk.

Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
