Injectable Fillers

Cosmetic Surgery Mobile Alabama – Injectables

Injectable fillers may be desirable if you have wrinkles on your face or around your mouth that you wish to diminish through cosmetic surgery. Mobile Alabama surgeons use filler injections to achieve fuller or more defined lips or in treating deep nasolabial folds (the line between the nose and the corner of your mouth). Additionally, injectable fillers may be used to improve the appearance of facial scars and acne scars.

An injection of numbing medicine (block) or numbing cream, in some cases, can be used to minimize the pain, if desired. The filler is then injected into the desired area. There may be some mild swelling after the procedure. Using ice will help to decrease any swelling. Most patients look normal with makeup within 24 hours. Lip injections may require 48 hours for swelling to resolve. Occasionally, mild bruising may be seen or small dots may appear at the locations where the needles were inserted.

The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.

We use Restylane®, Radiesse®, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Perlane, and Prevell Silk to perform cosmetic surgery. Mobile Alabama surgeons note that these products last between 4 months to 18 months depending on the product.
