Over the years, sun exposure creates photodamaged and pigmented skin. We offer a leading solution to treat the cosmetic effects of sun damage – the GentleMax laser. With this laser, the areas of undesirable hyperpigmentation can be greatly improved.

Are You a Candidate?
The best candidates for this treatment are men or women with sun damaged and hyperpigmented skin on the face and chest or minor skin laxity. During your consultation, we will be able to advise you on if you are an acceptable candidate.
At Eastern Shore Cosmetic Surgery, we use the GentleMax laser to treat the effects of sun damaged, hyperpigmented or mildly lax skin. Even after one treatment you should see improvement, but it takes a series of treatments to achieve the best results. The number of treatments depends on the preferred level of correction and your skin type.
Educated at the University of Alabama and in practice for over 15 years, Dr. Koehler is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon who is devoted to providing exceptional results.
The cost of photorejuvenation treatments ranges from $50 to $375 per treatment, with the amount varying depending on the area being treated and the number of treatments required to achieve results. Dr. Koehler and his staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about photorejuvenation pricing and help you fully understand the costs associated with photorejuvenation.
What to Expect
The treatments can take a few minutes to up to an hour depending on the size of the area being treated. Patients may experience a slight stinging or discomfort that is quickly relieved by the cryogenic spray used by the GentleMax to cool the skin.
After the treatment, you can expect some redness of the skin, which usually subsides after a few hours. You can resume your regular activities immediately after your treatment.
Risks and Complications
Photorejuvenation patients can rarely experience temporary or permanent pigment changes in the skin. It is best to have photorejuvenation done when the areas are not tanned, since the laser’s energy is absorbed by areas of pigmentation.
Your New Look
You should see results after just one treatment. Upon completion of the treatment series you should see a more evenly pigmented skin tone. Photorejuvenation with the GentleMax laser can also offer some skin tightening effects.
