About PRP Hair Restoration
PRP, which stands for “platelet-rich plasma,” is naturally found in everyone’s blood and contains a high concentration of growth factors. These growth factors can help to stimulate proper cell function and renewal, which, in the case of PRP hair restoration, can stimulate hair follicles in order to produce new hair growth.*
PRP Hair Restoration Costs
Eastern Shore Cosmetic Surgery offers three PRP hair restoration treatments for $2,500 or a single treatment for $1,000. Dr. Koehler and his staff would be happy to discuss cosmetic procedure pricing to help you better understand the costs associated with PRP hair restoration.
What to Expect
PRP hair restoration is a relatively simple two-step process. First, a regular blood draw is performed. The amount of blood that will be needed can depend on the size of the area being treated, and this is something that you can discuss with Dr. Koehler during your consultation.
A centrifuge machine is then used to separate the PRP from the rest of your blood. Once this is complete, the PRP is carefully injected into the area of your scalp where you’d like to target hair regrowth.
In most cases, the entire PRP hair restoration process takes about 30 minutes or less, and most people do not require numbing prior to injections and report minimal to no discomfort during the procedure.*

Risks and Complications
PRP hair restoration comes along with few risks, if any.* You might notice some minor discomfort or bruising directly after your procedure, but these side effects are generally mild and should resolve on their own over the next few days.*
Your New Look
For most people, you’ll see the best results after a series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced about a month apart. Within the first 2 to 3 months after treatment, you should start to notice a decrease in the amount of hair that comes out in your brush or while in the shower. Next, you should see signs of early hair regrowth, followed by the thickening and lengthening of your hair over time. Regular follow-up treatments every 6 months or so can help to maintain your results.*
