Are You a Candidate?
The best candidates for LHR are men or women with coarse dark hair with fair skin. People with finer, lighter colored hair may not respond as well to treatment since the laser targets the pigment in the hair follicle. During your consultation, we will be able to advise you on if you are an acceptable candidate.

About Laser Hair Removal
At Eastern Shore Cosmetic Surgery, we use the EVO Light alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers to remove the unwanted hair as comfortably as possible.
Though you should see improvement after just one treatment of laser hair removal, it takes a series of treatments to achieve reduction since hair grows in cycles and not all the hairs are growing at the same time. The number of treatments depends on the type of hair being treated and the area being treated. The treatment sessions are generally spaced about every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area being treated.
We are excited to offer Pro-Nox pain relief that can be added to any of the in-office procedures we perform. Pro-Nox is an inhaled analgesic that gives our patients 100% control through self-administration. Get short-term pain, anxiety, and stress relief without having to “go under.”

What to Expect
Treatments can take from just a few minutes to up to an hour depending on the size of the area being treated. During treatment, patients may experience a slight stinging or discomfort that is quickly relieved by the cryogenic spray used by the machine to cool the skin.
Patients can experience some redness of the skin and swelling around the hair follicles after treatment, which usually subsides after a few hours. You can resume your regular activities immediately after your treatment.
Risks and Complications
Patients can rarely experience temporary or permanent pigment changes in the skin. It is best to have laser hair removal done when the areas are not tanned, since the laser’s energy is absorbed by areas of pigmentation.
