For many people, small pockets of stubborn fat just won’t budge even with a healthy diet and exercise. Seeing these bulges adding bumps to your contours can be frustrating. CoolSculpting® can be an effective, non-surgical way to eliminate this excess fat by freezing and destroying the fat cells.

Are You a Candidate?
The best candidates for CoolSculpting® are men and women who are at or near their ideal body weight. Ideal candidates are interested in a non-surgical alternative to liposuction to remove excess fat and feel frustrated by stubborn bulges of fat in the abdomen, inner thigh, outer thigh, double chin and flanks or sides, including love handles or a muffin top. The FDA has only approved the use of CoolSculpting® for those areas.
CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss procedure and is only best for people with small amounts of extra fat in specific spots. Every CoolSculpting® session is different—it all depends on your natural body shape and the specific areas of fat you are targeting. Your treatment is completely customizable and our CoolSculpting Specialist will work with you to create a plan that’s quite literally made for you.
About CoolSculpting®
CoolSculpting® uses controlled cooling — called cryolipolysis — to freeze or crystalize fat cells without damaging nearby skin or surrounding tissue. The frozen fat cells collapse and your body naturally flushes away the cells in the months after your treatment. CoolSculpting® permanently destroys about 20 to 25 percent of the fat cells in the treatment area for an improved shape and long-lasting results.
The number of treatments varies depending on your specific goals, but we typically recommend two to four treatment cycles to achieve the best results.

Is CoolSculpting® Right for Me?
CoolSculpting® Costs
CoolSculpting is a highly customized procedure. We recommend setting up a free consultation with our CoolSculpting Specialist to develop a custom treatment plan that meets your personal goals. Most of our patients want multiple treatments in order to achieve their ideal outcome and we offer package pricing so that you can save money with multiple treatments.
During your CoolSculpting consultation, our CoolSculpting Specialist will be happy to answer any questions you may have about pricing to help you fully understand the costs associated with your CoolSculpting® treatment.
What to Expect
Your CoolSculpting® treatment starts by our staff applying a clear gel pad on the target area. This provides a barrier between the cooling panel and your skin. You’ll feel a slight sucking sensation as the applicator adheres to your body. You may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. CoolSculpting® treatments are between 35 and 75 minutes and you may be able to have more than one area treated during a single visit. During your treatment, you will be able to read, answer emails, or even watch your favorite movie. After the applicator is detached, your provider will do a brief massage on the treatment area to break up fat cells and enhance your fat reduction.
You should experience little to no downtime after each CoolSculpting® treatment and should be able to quickly resume your normal activities. Some people even return to work after treatments.
Risk and Complications
Because CoolSculpting® chills the area and uses suction on your skin, treatments can cause temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and mild pain. The redness should fade within in a few hours though it may last for up to 2 weeks after treatment. You may also notice bruising, swelling, tenderness, cramping, aching, skin sensitivity, tingling, and numbness near the treatment area for 1 to 2 weeks.
Your New Look
Because CoolSculpting® works with your body to flush away dead fat cells, your results won’t be immediately visible. You may begin seeing results near the three week mark after your treatment with more pronounced results showing after two months. As your body finishes clearing away fat cells, you should see sleeker contours and a smoother silhouette about 4 to 6 months after CoolSculpting® treatments.

CoolSculpting FAQs
How do I find the best center for CoolSculpting near me?
There are two things to look for: the proper training and sufficient experience. CoolSculpting is a relatively new procedure, which means that not all centers are trained in it, and even those who are might not have a lot of experience using it. As you call to vet centers, ask what their qualifications are for this specific form of treatment and get a ballpark figure on how many people they have treated with it.
How long does a CoolSculpting appointment last?
This will depend on several factors, the most important of which is how large the treated area is. CoolSculpting sessions can take as little as 35 minutes or go over an hour. You can discuss this with your CoolSculpting Specialist beforehand so you know exactly how much time you’ll need to schedule.
How much pain will I experience with CoolSculpting?
It is possible to feel some discomfort as well as numbness from the procedure. However, this is relatively mild and many patients do not experience discomfort at all. If you do feel significant discomfort during the procedure, communicate that with your CoolSculpting Specialist so that they can make adjustments.
How many applications are needed for CoolSculpting?
This will depend. In most cases, a single application will achieve the desired results. However, when CoolSculpting is used on the abdomen, it is common to need 2 sessions. Keep in mind that results are not instant; they only become visible once the body eliminates the crystallized fat cells.
What is the recovery like with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting does not have a recovery period. Clients often come in during a break from work to have their procedure done, then head right back to the office. If you like, you could avoid strenuous activity for a day or so afterward, but this is a matter of personal preference — not a requirement.
Are there any risks with CoolSculpting?
As with every cosmetic and medical procedure, there are some possible risks and side effects involved with CoolSculpting, though minor. The most common ones to experience are skin sensitivity, minor swelling, and a tugging sensation at the treatment site. None of these are serious or permanent, but you are still welcome to speak with us should you be concerned about them.
How can I tell if I am a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting removes fat, but it is not meant for weight loss. As such, candidates for the procedure are at or near their target weight and are otherwise in good health. They have tried diet and exercise to address stubborn fat pockets without results. These pockets of fat need to be significant enough to be pinchable; otherwise, the procedure will not be effective.
How do I prepare for CoolSculpting?
- Avoid the sun for at least a week in advance of the treatment
- Do not put on any skin creams or makeup on the area being treated
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Bring along something to watch or read during the session
